ABOUT KRIPALU YOGA

Kripalu Yoga integrates ancient and modern wisdom into a creative sequence of postures, breathing practices, and deep relaxation, inviting life energy (prana) to flow more freely through us. It is a moving meditation that integrates mindfulness and  physical fitness, while calming and balancing the nervous system--a total conditioning of body, mind and spirit.

The primary objective of Kripalu Yoga practice is to awaken the natural intelligence of life-force energy (the flow of prana) in order to promote thriving in all aspects of life--on and beyond the mat.

The foundations of Kripalu Yoga come from the life and teachings of Swami Kripalu (1913–1981), a highly respected kundalini yoga master, prolific writer, and talented musician from the Gujarat province of India, who is known for the intensity of his spiritual practice and the depth of his compassion.

The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, located in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, is the largest yoga center in North America. They offer workshops and teacher trainings in the Kripalu tradition as well as other styles of yoga and related disciplines.
